Palm Beach County
We do Tree Removal and Tree Transplanting.
We recently hired a new employee who previously worked for a more
well known Tree Company.
He hops on a Washingtonia tree and does a Hurricane Cut. For those
of you who don't know what a hurricane cut is, it is when you see
a Palm Tree that looks like a carrot sprouting from the ground..
This is the worst thing you can do to a Palm Tree.
Palm trees recycle nutrients from fronds to the heart of the Palm
or what is called a translocation of nutrients.
Too much frond removal deprives the tree of needed nutrients and
weakens it's defense against invasive molds and fungi.
In addition, repeated hurricane cuts will produce a condition
known as "pencil top" which is a narrowing of the palm trunk just
below the fronds. High winds can snap the top off making it
airborne and forever destroying the tree.
